In 1944, Japan was in shambles after their defeat in World War II and they had no choice but to comply with the Allied forces’ reconstruction plan. To avoid problems in the future, the nation was intricately divided on the municipal level between the Chinese and the Americans. Even after being rebuilt a few years later, Japan did not appear to be Japanese anymore, with Chinatowns and Americanization taking hold across the nation. The Japanese had become a minority race within their own nation due to high immigration from China and the US. The story begins in the spring of 1947 with the first meeting between the legendary man Leo and the madame of the Club Primavera, Rose. – Hau~ Omochikaeri~!
Note: Rose Guns Days was released at Comiket 82 a few days ago. I can’t help but be reminded of Cowboy Bebop and Baccano when I see this opening. It’s quite a departure from the horror-mystery settings of the “When They Cry” series.
